Dereham Blues Festival, 8 July, 2023

After applying to play the Dereham Blues Festival in 2022 but just missing the cut, Moonshine Coyote was invited to play at the festival in 2023 – initially for two sets.

By the time the band arrived in Dereham they had agreed to play a further three sets…

1:00 pm to 2:00pm – The George Hotel

Although it was early in the day the garden was packed with an enthusiastic crowd anxious to get the day’s music under way.

After some initial hiccups with the PA system had been cured, the show got underway on time and everyone enjoyed it.

3:00pm to 4:00pm – The Gemini

The next stop was at the family friendly Gemini for a relaxed afternoon set in the lovely garden…

5:00pm to 6:00pm – The Bull

The capacity crowd in the courtyard at The Bull was buzzing as Moonshine Coyote took to the stage, and no one was disappointed as they worked their way through the set and into the hearts of the audience. The show ended an hour later to rapturous applause…

7:00pm to 8:00pm – DC’s Bar

The next show was a distinct contrast to the previous one, but no less enjoyable. DC’s Bar was a much more intimate show than the previous three with lots of banter and interaction with the small but appreciative audience.

9:00pm to 10:00pm – The Red Lion

The final show of the day took place in the centre of town at the Red Lion. Another great audience and it was nice to see some familiar faces from DC’s Bar following the band to the Red Lion for another helping of Moonshine Coyote!

Conclusion

Although it was a very long, hot day, all the members of the band thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the Dereham Blues Festival and can’t wait to do it again next year!
